With all Minister of Works Jack Warner’s recent distractions, I hope he has not forgotten his pledge when he took up office to “fix” the traffic problem in the country. It seems that the traffic congestion is getting worse by the minute and no plan of action is forthcoming.

Our actions have some form of influence on children, so why do we blame them for bad behaviour when it is learnt from adults? Children are blamed for failing in school, but why blame them? If teachers show an interest in educating students, then students would show an interest in learning....

Human beings, in all lines of work, make errors. Errors can be prevented by designing systems that make it hard for people to do the wrong thing and easy for people to do the right thing. Cars are designed so that drivers cannot start them while in reverse because that prevents accidents.

Your editorial of December 9 (“Punishing England for media insults”) dealt quite objectively with the awarding of the 2018 World Cup and the role the media may or may not have played in the process.

The Ministry of Works and Transport has placed in the public domain for comments from all stakeholders and concerned citizens “Proposed draft regulations for establishing a regulatory framework for the efficient and safe operation for private hired vehicles in Trinidad and Tobago.” These...

Why is it that drivers in this country fail to understand the purpose of the lights on their cars. Park lights are meant to be left on when the car is parked in a dark area. If the headlights are left on the battery will be dead in a few hours and the car will not start.

Everyone is bawling about the crime in this country—and so they should too. Innocent people are being shot by bandits seeking to invade their homes and steal their belongings, raping and killing along the way.

I have read my friend Steve Bennett’s pleas in your letters column for action to protect the breeding of thoroughbred racehorses in T&T. Whilst I hold Steve in the highest esteem, I disagree with him entirely on this matter.
