Descent into decadence

They succeeded for generations riding the black masses like jackasses. Like dumb driven mules, they rode them to the top of their political mountain. The enemy of black youth was never Morgan Job.

Mr Manning said, “Adolph Hitler was one of the most successful and evil dictators to walk the face of this earth. A key figure was his minister of propaganda, a gentleman called Joseph Gobbles.” Mr Manning had both the spelling and the pronunciation wrong. The surname is Goebbels, pronounced Gerbles. Yet, Mr Manning has done us a favour.

Every literate person should read chapter six of Hitler’s autobiography, Mein Kampf, in my book: Police Reform and Performance Management: Crime the Darby Report and History.

Thousands of illiterate children were stuffed into secondary schools. Mr Manning and his collaborators boasted of PNM free education: “We made you 98 per cent literate.”

Mr Manning told us, “Joseph Gobbles was the man who said and operated by the philosophy that if you say something that is not true and repeat it often, in the minds of those who hear it, it becomes fact” (Hansard, June 29, Constitution (Amendment) Bill debate). The ghetto heard the chorus for more than 30 years: “PNM free education made you 98 per cent literate.”

The “African” political leaders of the ghetto heard Morgan Job pleading with them to liberate the black masses from illiteracy: “Implement numeracy, music, and a culture less focused on exaggerating the differences between ‘us’ and ‘them,’ while ignoring the similarities and bonds uniting us to them (local whites or ‘Indians’).”

They not only ignored Dr Job, but used calypsonians, the media and Parliament to do a Goebbels on Dr Job. They did nothing to demolish the prison of illiteracy manacling the minds of the ghetto mobs wishing “to dead a PNM.”

Only a minority of Afro-Trinidadian children received quality education. At school, they are in gangs. Raping girls is a sport in some classrooms. Teachers are assaulted or battered. A few have been threatened with douglarisation by rape. Many are fearful for their lives. Cutlasses and guns have been found in schoolbags. Drugs are sold and prostitution is not rare.

The Prime Minister’s wife supervises an escalation of costs unrelated to any improvement in quality of disaster delivered or to the remuneration she receives.

The ghetto continues to descend into decadence. Schools finish off strumpets or bandits. Learning of the formal kind diminishes as melanin increases in the cohort’s skin. Those who can afford ship out their children or spend enough on lessons to get them a place in the denominational sector.

The giant characterless comprehensives are a comprehensive management disaster. Too many teachers are incompetent. Child-centred techniques, as whole language experiments, have ruined hundreds of thousands, who were innocent poor children.

From kindergarten, teachers must study my book: How Every Parent, Guardian or Teacher Must Help a Child to Love Mathematics. Imaginative engagement is not a substitute for teaching and learning facts. There are too many illiterates unable to discern the difference between “some” and “all” in any simple statement, when inference is made from a sample.

The pervasive mathematical illiteracy explains why even UWI graduates defend the abominable junior secondary system: “I know so and so who is a doctor and went to junior sec,” or “I know a junior sec student who won a national scholarship.”

Spike Lee bans BET in his house. The PNM engages BET to help promote Afro-Trinidadian festivals. Imagine the benefits to the ghetto children exposed to the PNM Gladiator from dawn to noon bellowing misogynically, “Piss for you. You walkin’ vomit. You smellin’ b-a-r-d...English is not my language. Dat is de wite man language. You intellectual masturbator.”

Such is the use of radio to the enterprise of educating “Africans!” God grant that Tobago continues to reject such immersion into latrine prose as Afro-Trinidadian culture.

The doctors or those who have social power in Tobago will not permit their children to be experimented with. They go into the stream with the highest SEA marks. The rest are mixed up by the exercise of unlimited power of petty men with limited minds or self-regarding prejudices. Their commands are oppressive.

In education, it is also reactionary and corrupt. This sickness has denied poor parents the right to query placing children according to the bureaucrat’s plan with no consultation with parents who may not desire that their children be used to raise the standard of others by lowering theirs. Is streaming good only for the rich or the powerful, and bad for the poor or powerless?

The poor, the ghetto we will always have with us. T&T will go the way of Africa, Guyana or Haiti as long as the illiterate masses emotionally respond to their “African” or “Indian” leaders. They never implemented the projects Dr Job had advised: music, literacy, mathematics, a culture which focuses on wealth creation, not on envy of those who are lawfully wealthy, or rejects weakening the strong to strengthen the weak. Equality is a bad idea about misery, except if it is equality before the law.

PNM free education has destroyed too many. Praising it must be a Goebbels project. Our future is black while Mrs Manning manages the abominable low-life ghetto state institutions unfit for and dangerous to children.

Pity the victims of “African” political exploitation. They respond with Hutu reflexes to analysis of a destructive education system, or culture promoting mediocrity, banality, deviance, and mindless tribal wildness as loyalty. Their focus on Mr Panday or his UNC is inapposite.
