Boodram Chouthi, 77, father of Guardian associate editor, business, Sandra Chouthi, passed away at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, yesterday, after a period of illness.

He was the husband of Sarojanee and also the father of Premnath, Boyie, Grace and Suresh.

Chouthi was the brother of Deo, the late Batchia, Rookmin, Mahadeo and Bate.

Father-in-law of Neela and Roy. Uncle of Dr Gowrie Lalla. Grandfather of Reshma, Nisha, Natasha and Nikhita.

Relative of the Mungals, the Sookoos, the Sooknanans, the Somans, the Jookhoos from McBean, the Lallas from Ravine Sable and the Preetams.

The funeral service takes place today at the house of mourning, 43 Bamboo Settlement No 1, Valsayn (opposite Grand Bazaar, Uriah Butler Highway) at 11 am, then to the Caroni cremation site.
