Memphis Pioneers sprinter Kervin Morgan was in fine form
in Bacelot, Tobago over the weekend, capturing the mens
sprint double crown at the Falcon Games.
Morgan, a Boys Under-20 200 metres bronze medallist
at the Carifta Games in Guadelope two weeks ago, made light
work of his rivals at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, first winning
the 100m in 10.99 seconds.
His Memphis club-mate, Kelton George, was second (11.19),
followed by Andell Salazar of Concorde (11.23).
Morgan then added the halp-lap (200m) title to his name,
getting to the line in 21.39 secs.
Youngster Kanesha Spann was also a sprint double champion.
The Morvant Jets speedster copped Girls Under-13 100m
gold, easily beating Terrisa Mark of Warriors (13.89) and
Geneva Pope of Palo Seco (14.15), who finished second and
third, respectively. Her win was timed at 12.98.
In the 200m, Mark (29.98) was made to settle for silver
yet again as Spann posetd a 27.87 finish. Afeisha Quashie
took home the bronze medal (30.94).
Two-time Carifta Boys Under-20 400m champion Renny
Quow of Zenith did what was expected of him in the mens
open one-lap race, posting a comfortable win (46.97).
Kelly-Ann Romeo won both the womens open 400m hurdles
(one minute, 7.20) and 400m (58.09), while Zeniths
Carifta Girls Under-20 100m bronze medallist, Semoy
Hackett, won gold in the womens open 100m (12.19).
Health Olympians athlete Shameyeal Simon (24.94) and Shermund
Allsop of Concorde (22.57) were the winners of the Girls
and Boys 200m, respectively.
