and Franklin Wireless Corporation, a wireless communication
provider based in California, announced a distribution agreement
and the launching of the first wireless CDMA 1XEV-DO USB modem.
In this agreement, Franklin Wireless will be shipping units
of its CCU-550 1XEVDO modem for this launch using TSTTs
CDMA mobile network.
Franklin CCU-550 is the industrys first wireless USB
modem based on CDMA2000 1XEVDO technology.
This product will enable TSTTs subscribers with laptop,
ultra-portable and desktop computers that do not have a PCMCIA
card slot to connect to the Internet anytime anywhere, a TSTT
press release stated.
It is capable of speeds of up to 2.4 mbps enabling PC users
to access e-mail and browse the Internet at speeds comparable
to cable and DSL connections.
