T&T continues to feature prominently in this year’s Crop Over Festival in Barbados. Showing Bajans how to fete tonight are our own fete promotion outfits Island People and Island Style when they host the 10 to 10 Insomnia fete, alongside Barbados’ Berger Boyz and FAS Entertainment, at Carlisle Carpark, Bridgetown.

Just as is done in Trinidad, there will be no sleep for the party crowd as 25 of the Caribbean’s top soca acts are billed to perform, including T&T’s Destra and Atlantik.

Also on the bill are popular Barbadian acts Krosfyah, featuring Edwin Yearwood, Lil Rick, Rupee and the DotCom Band, and Natahlee & Shontelle.

This year, Insomnia has introduced a novel retro segment with bards like Gabby, Red Plastic Bag, Grynner, John King and Mac Fingall, performing their vintage hits of yesteryear.

The weekend’s biggest show scheduled for tomorrow is the Cockspur Cohobblopot at the National Stadium.

Featuring acts from across the region, including Jamaican dancer/DJ Lexxus and Guyana band Mingles, the show’s star-studded cast also features T&T’s Ronnie McIntosh, who will perform with the Caribbean Effect Band.
