Arima Mayor Adrian Cabralis, left, and Deputy Mayor Ricardo Bharath-Hernandez accept the cheque from Shedley Branche, sales manager, Arima branch, Republic Bank.

The committee for this year’s Arima Fest celebrations recently received a donation from Republic Bank to sponsor the first three prizes in its calypso competition.

The theme for this year is Bring Community Together and the Arima Borough Corporation is attempting to improve the status of its relationships with all the communities that engulf the borough.

In addition to the donation, the bank is also hosting a Borrow for Borough loan sale.

Other bank-sponsored activities included car displays which end August 16. This will include displays by Suzuki and Neal and Massy, and shows of customised cars.

To further commemorate this occasion, the bank’s Arima branch is hosting customer appreciation days as a means of showing its dedication to the celebration of our country’s culture.

The final one is on Friday.
