The sun set on Club Zen in Port-of-Spain last week Thursday with patrons dancing the night away into sunrise at Zen’s Sunrise Sunset dance festival.

DJ Sammy kicked off the long four-day holiday weekend with nostalgic back in times music from the ’70s-’90s.

The Sunset session of the two-night dance festival also featured Dutch DJ/songwriter 4 Strings, who pulled a large crowd to the popular Keate Street club.

DJ Sammy entertained the lively Zen crowd with hip hop, dance and disco music.

Members of the crowd on the first level also had a ball as they took delight in keeping two large air-filled disco balls in the air, using just the tips of their fingers.

The party atmosphere was further enriched with confetti cascading from the top level of Zen.

The highly anticipated 4 Strings came on around 2.30 pm with the multi-talented Carlo Resoort dancing on the ramp making the crowd go wild.

Resoort, who remixes and produces vocal and instrumental tracks, mixed and performed popular tracks like Sunrise, Take me away (into the night) and Let it Rain.

He was joined on stage by a tassa group, which played alongside him.

The Zen crowd was also entertained by lovely, talented female pannist Shivanna Ragoonanan.

Many Zen regulars and newcomers seemed to be caught in a trance with the lively, upbeat dance music which had them on their feet all night.

Couples were also given a taste of some soft back in times tunes toward the end of the night, which had them dancing close in each other’s arms.
