THIS month, Pan Trinbago will inaugurate a new and exciting forum for top notch local talent with the premiere of Pan Jazz in de Yard — A Tobago Experience in Tobago. A superb line up of pan musicians will be wooing us with their musical magic amongst them National Panorama champion 2007, Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars.

The production will be held on April 25 and 26 at the Redemption Sounds Pan Theatre, Montgomery, Tobago.

Prominent among the individual performers will be the legendary pannist Len “Boogsie” Sharpe who has worked with the most prominent musicians worldwide; Ken “Professor” Philmore, award winner for his contribution to music in New York City and most outstanding musical arranger by Pan Trinbago in 1989 and who has also performed at the Barbados Jazz Festival; and, Clive Zanda and the Ex-Tempo trio, one of the first artistes to produce a calypso jazz album and who have recently appeared at the Jamaica Blues and Jazz Festival.

Other artistes include Marilyn Williams, Duvonne Stewart, RBTT Redemption Sound Setters, Darren Sheppard, John Arnold and The Kariwak Players and the hugely talented up and coming Tony Williams.

This will be a superb opportunity for music fans all over the Caribbean to witness the musical talents of these top artists during the days leading up the Plymouth Jazz festival.

Tickets will be on sale at Kam’s, Cleve’s, Crosby’s and Tokens (West Mall) in Trinidad and from the following in Tobago: Penny Savers Supermarket, Arcadia Records, Things Natural, Crown Point news stand, and Manta Dive Shop.
