Four police constables assigned to the Court and Process branch at the Couva Police Station have been suspended.

This move comes in the wake of the escape of Stephen Forginey, 22, and Rodney Samaroo, 15, who slipped out of the Couva courthouse sometime before 2. 30 pm last Monday.

Police noticed the duo missing when they made their rounds at the cell.

The two, charged with murder, were reportedly last spotted going to the toilet.

Samaroo, of Claxton Bay, was nabbed by police later that evening while hiding out in Carolina Village, Couva.

Forginey, of Spring Village, remains at large and has been spotted scavenging at the Forres Park landfill at Claxton Bay.

Forginey and Samaroo are charged for the August 17 murder of Richard Mark, who was found hacked to death at the Claxton Bay dump on

August 17.

Mark’s body was found lying in the garbage that he scavenged for a living. He was among dozens of men living at the landfill who collect items to sell for recycling.
