Thirteen-year-old Jonathan Bishop reads one of Anne Fridal's poems at the launch of her book Toute Bagai La .

DRAMATIC soprano Anne Fridal sang a different type of song when she launched her book of poetry—Toute Bagai La—at the T&T High Commission in London, last Tuesday.

Among the invited guests were many of Fridal’s friends and well-wishers including director Geraldine Connor, Viscount David Lascelles, musician Enrique Ali and operatic tenor Ronald Samm.

High Commissioner Glenda Morean Phillip opened the evening’s proceedings with a welcome address and invited the author to say a few words.

Fridal kicked things off with readings from her new book, much to everyone’s delight. She then invited guests to read some of her poetry, including limbo queen Natalie Joseph-Settle, Caroline Neisha Taylor and actor Ram John Holder and they kept the audience laughing.

Sheldon Blackman later joined Fridal with his guitar and together they sang The Virgin Mary had a Baby Boy. The duet inspired all in attendance to sing along.

Fridal recently starred in the production of Carnival Messiah at Harewood House in Leeds, England, which ended its run on September 30.
