Seasons greetings to all our readers. This year has been so eventful in the world of beauty as it’s becoming easier for women to find products that are not only suitable for their individual skin types, but they also have a wide variety of convenient, easy-to-apply items.

This holiday season, be sure to take some time to see about yourself.

Shop for things that will enhance your collection and don’t forget to take those precious pictures to show your personal improvement.

Today, in keeping with Christmas and the jeweled-themed make-up, I decided to use the most common colour I see around this time of year — green.

It’s the colour of Christmas trees, wreaths and garlands. Green seems to be the background of most things this time of year.

So why not incorporate it with your holiday looks? The great thing about green is that it is a colour that can prove very difficult to blend with a lot of other shades. Maybe that’s why it is often ignored.

Today I will give five suggestions on the right and wrong ways to use a shade as strong green and how using them with different hues can bring out a sophisticated holiday look.

Be sure to accessorise with diamond-styled jewelry and a really great holiday dress.

* Tip 1

Keep these shades in the creases of your eyes. You want to highlight the eyes with a glimmer of softness, so do not go too far out. If you do, then it looks more costume-like.

* Tip 2

Blending is essential. It is great to see exaggerations on runways or magazines, but for every day use, it needs to be toned.

The colour doesn’t need to be non-vibrant, but it should be seamless when applied on the eyes. You want it to blend right into the rest of your make-up.

* Tip 3

Use more than one shade of green, you don’t want to look painted. Follow the same application routine as you would with your usual colours, get a deep shade for the creases and a light shade for the inner eyelids, this will give a more complete look to your application.

* Tip 4

Define and sparkle. Use a nice clean felt-tipped liquid liner for precise lining on the upper lash line. This will give a great modern edge to enhance your eyes and dazzle the lower lash line with clear crystal eye dust. This gives an classy, sexy touch to the eyes.

* Tip 5

Last but not least, keep the rest of your make-up soft and minimal. Opt for a tinted moisturiser, some pink lip gloss with a cool cranberry glaze, blush, and this should complete your green holiday look.
