CL FINANCIAL San Juan Jabloteh will go into its final T&T Pro League Lucozade Sport Big Six match against Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA needing only a draw to clinch its first league title in four years and third in club history.

Currently the San Juan club, without a title so far this season, leads with 59 points from 31 matches, three clear of defending champions bmobile Joe Public while Neal & Massy Caledonia, who can only finish as high as third, has 55 and Vibe CT 105 W Connection, 54.

The Jabloteh and Caledonia match will take place at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar from 7 pm and with their end of season awards dinner set for Thursday at Cascadia Hotel, St Ann’s coach Terry Fenwick will no doubt want to end the season in fine style.

However, a defeat for Jabloteh will leave the door open for bitter rival Joe Public with a chance of a repeat, the first to do so since Jabloteh won back-to-back titles in 2002 and 2003.

However, the “Eastern Lions” must beat W Connection at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya from 7 pm also.

Last year, W Connection defeated Joe Public 3-1 on the final day of the season to end with the same number of points, 65.

But the “Savonetta Boys” lost out on the title because of goal-difference and will be eager to play spoilers this time around.

W Connection will also have its eyes set on a third title this season as it leads the “Big Six” competition with ten points, two more than Defence Force and needs only a point to clinch the title.

Joe Public who has seven points can also win the “Big Six” but needs a big win.

The Stuart Charles-Fevrier coach W Connection has so far won the First Citizens Cup and Courts Pro Bowl.

Defence Force, second in the “Big Six” table with eight points meets Economy North East Stars in the other match at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, from 7 pm and will hope to secure another win to keep alive its chances of claiming the Big Six.

Another keenly contested race in this year’s league is the right for the top scorer title, with Peter Byers (15 goals), Kerry Baptiste (14), Jonathan Frias (13), Devon Jorsling (12), Randolph Jerome (11) and Earl Jean (10) all in the hunt.
