A 22-year-old woman who boarded a car in San Fernando, believing it was a taxi, was abducted, robbed and gang-raped.

She told police she was standing on Coffee Street around 10.30 pm on Friday awaiting transportation to High Street, when a car horn was honked and she stopped it.

When she entered the car she saw two male passengers. Instead of taking her to her destination, the driver drove to an isolated location in Central, where the men took turns raping her.

They robbed her of an undisclosed sum of money and her jewelry. She was then dropped off at Gasparillo flyover, where she used her cellphone to call for help.

A medical examination confirmed that she had been sexually-assaulted.

PC Bisnath of San Fernando CID is investigating. (SW)
